November 2017 Round-up

Here’s this month’s community impact / social action round-up:

Sunday 5 November – join us at Everyday Kingston from 4-5.30 pm to hear Saroeun’s story and be inspired to join the fight against modern day slavery. Everyday Sutton will be packing shoebox gifts as part of Operation Christmas Child, to send to children around the world this Christmas. Here’s more info on what to bring and how to pack a shoebox.

Tuesday 14 November – more shoebox gifts will be packed at Everyday Kingston and Everyday WimbledonHere’s more info on what to bring and how to pack a shoebox.

Wednesday 15 November – Everyday Wimbledon will be getting together again to pack more shoebox gifts!

Sunday 19 November – Everyday Southfields will be having Shoebox Sunday (and the venue is a depot so contact us for other dates/times to drop off shoebox gifts), and the 65+ afternoon tea will be held at Everyday Wimbledon from 2.30-4.30 pm. You’ll have the opportunity to make new friends over tea, coffee, and scrummy food!

Sunday 26 November – prayer at Everyday Wimbledon for all Everyday venues from 3.30-5 pm. James 5:16 tells us that our prayers are powerful and effective – join us as we seek God on behalf of our communities to see greater impact and more lives being changed.

Did you know?

Winter Night Shelter – Everyday Wimbledon will be partnering with other Merton places of worship to run the Winter Night Shelter in December/January. Here’s more info about it.

Safe & Sound is planned for December at Everyday Kingston. Even if you’re from another venue, why not join us in blessing night revelers, rough sleepers, police, street pastors and others in Kingston? Tea, coffee, snacks and games will help keep you awake all night!

Jubilee+ Churches that Change Communities Conference – a group of us from different Everyday venues attended the conference on 28 October and were so inspired and touched! Read more about it hereSave the date: next year’s conference will be at Everyday Wimbledon on Saturday 10 November 2018!

Foodbank – We’re currently pushing to help Wimbledon Foodbank this year in providing food for the Christmas season, bring your food to any of the 3 Sunday services on the 19th or 26th of November to play your part. If you’re needing guidance on what to buy then here’s a list of urgently needed items:

  • Tinned Meat/Fish/Vegetables
  • Tinned Tomatoes/Potatoes
  • Long Life Milk/Juice
