Winter Night Shelter 2013 – Kingston venue

Now in it’s 6th successful year, the Kingston Winter Night Shelter project offers homeless people temporary accommodation for 12 cold winter weeks and offers local churches the opportunity to bless others as we’ve been blessed.

This year, for the first time, Everyday Church is taking part as we open our Kingston venue for 6 Tuesday evenings over December 2013 & January 2014 – and whichever venue you’re a part of, this is a call to come and get involved!

We’ll be open for business on the nights of the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 31st of December and the 7th and 14th January 2014. We need volunteers to cover 3 shifts each Tuesday night, these being: an evening shift which includes the opportunity to prepare & serve a 3 course meal for our guests, an overnight shift and a morning shift which includes the opportunity to prepare, serve and share breakfast together.

Don’t leave this to those of us in the Kingston venue – come and get involved! Winter Night Shelter runs in Merton as well and it’s just possible that volunteering with us in Kingston this year will lead to you spearheading a similar operation in Wimbledon for 2014.

While we’d also welcome donations of toiletries for our guests, what we mostly want is for as many Everyday people as possible to take part in personally welcoming and blessing our guests this Christmas. Come and get involved – for more info about donations or volunteering contact Julia or Akhtar via kingston@everyday.org.uk or difference@everyday.org.uk

Bless you!
