September 2017 Round-up

Here’s this month’s community impact / social action round-up:

Sunday 10 September – monthly prayer for Everyday Difference across all venues from 3.30-5 pm at Everyday Wimbledon. We’ll be praying for our leaders, teams and projects, and seeking God for our communities!

Sunday 17 September – 65+ Afternoon Tea at Everyday Wimbledon: a chance to make friendships over tea, coffee and cakes from 2.30 – 4.30 pm. You can contact us below if you’d like to be involved (or help by baking goodies!).

Every Thursday – Inside Out Coffee Morning at Everyday Kingston from 11 am – 1 pm, where we open up the building to offer tea, coffee and cakes/biscuits and friendly conversation. Come join us!

Every Friday – Foodbank is held at Everyday Kingston from 11 am – 2 pm. We’d love to have more volunteers to chat with people and make them feel welcome, pray with them and help pack food bags! You need to complete a short training session and more volunteers would be welcome.

Every Sunday we hold a community lunch at Everyday Kingston. We would love more helpers to cook, serve and befriend!

Did you know?

Jubilee+ Churches that Change Communities 2017 conference: there’s still time to join us at this conference on Saturday 28 October.

CAP Money Courses – further courses coming soon, dates to be announced. Sam described his experience of the course here, and Veronique, who participated recently, said, ‘I thought I was quite good with money but I learnt such a huge amount; I think eeryone should do the course, not just people who struggle with finance … I realised when I completed the course that I could save a lot more. Our coach was so skilled at putting us at ease and I loved the fact that we could exchange tips in the group and help each other through the course. I am now really motivated to support others and am training to be a money coach. In these difficult times, a course like this is a blessing and useful to everyone, plus the materials are excellent!’

Coffee with Wimbledon Police – we have started regular coffee mornings for befriending and support.

Can you help?

Everyday Youth – we’d love more volunteers at Everyday Wimbledon and Everyday Kingston to get involved in our Friday night youth program.

Wimbledon Foodbank – more team members welcome to join an Everyday Wimbledon team serving on Tuesdays 12 – 2 pm at Elim Wimbledon.

Operation Christmas Child – please start saving shoe boxes for this amazing initiative!

Safe & Sound is coming back to Everyday Kingston! We already have dates in December – even if you’re from another venue, why not join us in blessing night revelers, rough sleepers, police, street pastors and others in Kingston? Tea, coffee, snacks and games will help keep you awake all night!

There are many ways to get involved in our communities individually and together as a church family – if you’d like to find out more or be part of these and other initiatives, contact us!
